The old farmhouse and barn have been extensively renovated, bringing the old stone walls back to life while using modern, eco-friendly energy-saving solutions.

You can feel that the hosts love their homeland, a landscape made up of centuries-old olive trees, cultivated fields, forests and old villages. At the same time, they are passionate about farming, living in harmony with nature, producing honey, making oil and working with selected suppliers to always offer the best local products. Certified as an educational farm, they strive not only to live in harmony with nature, but also to pass on knowledge and values ​​to others.

The hosts offer their guests a variety of rooms and apartments of different sizes to meet all needs. Families, couples, friends and anyone looking for a break are welcome in this picturesque place full of nature, art, culture, culinary delights and entertainment.

The total offer
The aim is to offer guests an unforgettable experience: holidaymakers reside in the middle of old walls and enjoy the breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape while swimming in the infinity pool. You have the opportunity to hike along picturesque paths through fields and forests and experience the diverse scents and colors of nature in the different seasons. You can also enjoy the flavors of regional products, e.g. at a locally produced breakfast, and take part in the activities on the educational farm.

The educational farm at Agriturismo Palaia 3
This educational farm was created to introduce people of all ages to the fascinating world of nature and especially bees. The farm includes more than 30 hectares of land (mostly olive groves and forests), over 100 beehives and a small vegetable garden that invites you to take a walk, learn about and harvest the various seasonal crops and gain proper nutritional knowledge.

Beekeeping educational trail
The educational path consists of various modules, the most important of which are as follows:

• Introduction to the life of bees and their important ecological role
• Encounter with the beehives to see the bees, their behaviour and organisation live and to explain the careful work of the beekeeper and his equipment
• Use of a teaching beehive to discover live what happens in the beehives
• Visit to the honey extraction room with explanation of the different phases of honey processing and other bee products
• Laboratory activities (wax processing, honey bottling, themed games depending on the season)
• Tasting of our own products

This educational offer is also aimed at schools to introduce children to this wonderful world. The visit is highly customizable and can be designed for an adult audience or for children of all ages, depending on interests, time and cost. The above modules can be carried out all together or individually and there is the possibility of including a lunch and/or a snack in the form of a tasting of in-house and local products.

The products from the farm:

• Honey
  The farm's activity covers the entire honey production process, from the breeding of bees (Apis mellifica ligustica) to the bottling, storage and sale of the product.
  The following types of honey are currently produced:
  • Blossom honey (Millefiori)
  • Acacia honey
  • Sulla Honey
  • Linden honey
  • Chestnut honey

In addition to honey, other beekeeping products are also produced:

• Food or natural remedies (e.g. pollen or propolis)
• Cosmetic products honey and beekeeping based products (creams, shower gel, shampoo, etc.)

All products mentioned, including wine from local producers, tea, infusions and herbal teas, can be purchased on site at the agriturismo or ordered for delivery.
