The ancient Borgo Quarazzana

Nestled in the green nature of the Lunigiana region, not far from the sea, Lerici, Porto Venere and the Cinque Terre, lies the Borgo Quarazzana.

Attention! The entire facility can only be booked for single use and self-catering for larger groups of 8 to 17 people. The only exception is the period from July 23.07rd to August 15.8th: during this period, the individual residential units (rooms, suites and the apartment) can be booked individually with breakfast or half board.

A true holiday oasis has been created here in a small old farm with a manor house and a wonderful view of the Apuan Alps. Time seems to have stood still here, aromas and scents of a bygone era are still in the air and create a feel-good atmosphere and relaxation.

The complex is largely preserved in its original form and dates back to the 15th century. It is located in the heart of the old Borgo Quarazzana and consists of several farmhouses and a manor house around an old courtyard. It can be reached via a country road and is only 8 km from Fivizzano. The extensive, careful restoration of the old buildings has taken care to preserve the original structure and use original materials as much as possible while providing guests with modern comforts such as: B. free WiFi access with around 10/15 Mbit/s.

Five comfortable rooms of different sizes with bathrooms and a small apartment, an entrance area, a brick kitchen, a dining room and various rooms for various activities (piano, relaxation, yoga) were created. All of them were individually designed in terms of furniture and coloring of the walls.

The outdoor pool (10 x 5 m) and the beautiful flower and vegetable garden are available to all guests to relax and unwind. In this little paradise with a unique mountain view, it is important that disturbing noises stay “outside” and that peace and a harmonious atmosphere are guaranteed.

Optional services: catering The Borgo can be booked in self-catering (by a self-catering group) or, if desired, breakfast and dinner can be booked as well. Start the morning with a rich breakfast, served in the main house or in the courtyard, made from local products. Enjoy homemade jams, fresh bread from the wood-fired oven, yoghurt, cold cuts and good cheese from the local cheese dairy.

Dinner can be prepared by the chef, Ilaria, with products from the in-house organic garden or other selected farms in the region. The recipes come from traditional Tuscan cuisine, e.g. T. already from Ilaria's grandmother, who already had a restaurant and a grocery store in Florence in the 19th century. There is no set menu: the dishes are selected day by day according to the season. The restaurant is located in the main building on the upper floor with a wonderful view.

Whenever the weather permits, dinner is also served in the courtyard. Late at night, candlelight and classical sounds or jazz background music create a romantic and inviting atmosphere under the starry sky.

Between breakfast and dinner, there are a number of ways to spend your day: during the day you can relax in the garden, read and enjoy the pool area. You can also discover the secret corners of the Borgo on a village walk or reach the nearby waterfall on your own or a rented e-bike.

In addition, Borgo Quarazzana is the perfect starting point for excursions into the surrounding area.

Visit e.g. B. the Verrucola dei Bosi Castle and the Piazza Medici of Fivizzano, the village of Equi Terme or the famous villages of the Cinque Terre. By car you can reach the coast and places such as Lerici, Porto Venere and Tellaro in just 60 minutes. An art trip to Sarzana, Serravezza, Pietrasanta is also recommended. Last but not least, the cultural magnets Pisa and Lucca are not far away.

A visit to the Apennine National Park is also recommended, for active holidaymakers perhaps by e-bike. Stop at a farm to see how cheese is made and taste it. Swim in clear water in the mountains. The area is ideal for exploring by bike or e-bike, perhaps even with a guide. E-bike rental is possible upon reservation. Wineries can be visited on request, e.g. B. Castel del Piano near Quarazzana, Buranco in Monterosso al Mare, Ca Lunae in Palvotrisia and Pietra del Focolare in Ortonovo. Tours are also organized to local food vendors, traditional farms and craft workshops.

The offer also includes cooking courses from chef Ilaria, as well as a relaxing massage or yoga course.
