Romantic retreat or ideal location for a family vacation

Located high in the Apuan Alps, near the coast of Viareggio, the holiday home Santanna offers peace and seclusion, but at the same time is strategically located and therefore an excellent base for an unforgettable holiday in the middle of a fascinating mountain landscape. The carefully restored and modernized country house is located above the small hamlet of Sant'Anna di Stazzema, the last in a row of 4 small houses (mostly uninhabited). It is surrounded by a large z. Partly wooded property with garden and terraces. The view of the surrounding hills from up here is wonderful. The village of S. Anna is just a short walk away and has a small café/restaurant.

The holiday home Santanna can accommodate 4 people. It is built on a steep slope and can be accessed from the outside on two levels. The lower entrance door leads into the living room, and from the dining room or kitchen above there is also access outside via a covered terrace. This area is comfortably furnished with comfortable chairs and a grill and is basically the heart of the house. Here you eat your meals, enjoy the wonderful view and end the eventful day in a relaxed manner. The kitchen is well equipped, has a beautiful marble sink, as well as a dishwasher and a microwave. From the kitchen/dining room, a steep staircase leads up to a double bedroom, which also offers wonderful views over the valley. On the same floor, but at the back of the house, there is another smaller bedroom with a bunk bed. There is a shower room on this floor.

In the lower part of the house - also accessible via a staircase from the dining room/kitchen level - is the comfortable living room with a coffee table and sofas. There is a second shower room on this floor. The garden extends on the left side of the house and hugs the slope like a terrace. There is a whirlpool on the outdoor terrace, which is only available to guests. The ideal place to end the day comfortably - perhaps with a glass of sparkling wine. The lawns below invite you to sunbathe and relax.

Around the holiday home Sant' Anna

Around the holiday home Santanna, in the Apuan Alps there are endless interesting things to discover. There is a possibility to hike, climb and/or explore historic villages. If you want to explore culinary trails, you will certainly get your money's worth in the restaurants in the area.

The highest peaks here measure up to 1700 m. An astonishingly white type of marble comes from these mountains, from which Michelangelo carved his famous David, among other things. The Quarries can still be visited today. Near the small town Pietrasanta There is a center for sculptors where changing exhibitions take place throughout the year.

If you want to escape the peace and seclusion, you will find various entertainment options on the nearby Versilia coast (only approx. 15 km away). Long sandy beaches invite you to swim, fine restaurants offer culinary delights, trendy bars and discos offer variety and entertainment.

Art and culture lovers come in Lucca and Pisa to their rights. The two Tuscan jewels can be reached in less than an hour's drive and offer a variety of architectural and artistic delights. Anyone who carefully walks through Pisa will find old Roman inscriptions on the white marble walls, as the medieval builders used old memorial plaques and inscriptions as building materials. Lucca is a medieval paradise with regular markets and many shops.

Music lovers, but especially opera fans, should visit the famous Puccini Festival Don't miss it, which takes place every year between June and September. There are performances in both Puccini's house as well as “open-air” on an open-air stage on the lakeshore Torre del Lago.

Religious celebrations take place throughout the year. Particularly impressive is the so-called “Triennale di Gesu' Morto”, which takes place every 3 years on Good Friday in Camaiore and the surrounding area. The entire city and the surrounding hills are illuminated with traditional olive oil lamps. Thousands of flickering lights convey an indescribable, unforgettable atmosphere that anyone who has experienced them will not quickly forget. Another religious event also takes place in Camaiore during Corpus Christi. Valuable carpets are laid out by local men and boys in the streets of the historic center for the traditional procession of priests and communion children.
