This educational farm was created to introduce people of all ages to the fascinating world of nature and, in particular, bees. The farm extends over more than 30 hectares of land, consisting of olive groves and woods, over 100 beehives and a small vegetable garden. This invites you to take walks where you can learn about and harvest the various seasonal crops and acquire valuable nutritional knowledge.
Beekeeping educational trail
The course includes several modules, the most important of which are as follows:
- Introduction to the life of bees and their ecological importance
- Visit to the beehives: Experience the bees and their organization up close and learn more about the careful work of the beekeeper and his equipment.
- Use of a teaching beehive: Discover live what is happening in the beehives.
- Visit to the honey extraction room: Learn about the different stages of honey processing and other bee products.
- Laboratory activities: Wax processing, honey bottling, themed games depending on the season.
- Tasting of our own products
This offer is also aimed at schools to introduce children to the wonderful world of bees. The visit is highly customizable and can be designed for adults and children of all ages, depending on interests, time and cost. The above modules can be carried out in their entirety or individually. There is also the option of including lunch and/or a snack in the form of a tasting of in-house and local products.
The products of the farm
The company covers the entire honey production process, from the breeding of bees (Apis mellifica ligustica) to the bottling, storage and sale of the honey. The following types of honey are currently produced: flower honey (millefiori), acacia honey, sulla honey, linden honey, chestnut honey.
In addition to honey, other beekeeping products are also produced:
Food or natural remedies: For example pollen or propolis, cosmetic products based on honey and beekeeping: creams, shower gel, shampoo and more olive oil.
