Tuscany is by far the best place to vacation
According to an official website of the Italian government, Italy wants by decree (Art. 6 “Ulteriori disposizioni in materia di spostamenti da e per l'estero”) Entry for EU citizens allowed again from June 3rd. If German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas and his counterparts from Italy, Spain, Austria and other popular European travel destinations have their way, the travel warnings should be lifted after June 14th and converted into individual travel advice. Restaurants, museums and sights in Italy have been open again since May 18th, so nothing stands in the way of a relaxing summer vacation in Tuscany.
Relaxation beyond mass tourism
Away from the big cities of Florence, Pisa, Siena, Lucca and Arezzo, Tuscany is not overcrowded even in the summer months, so you can easily adhere to the distance rules, which also apply in Italy, similar to Germany. In addition, you should also adhere to the rules to protect against infection with the coronavirus while on vacation:
- Wash your hands regularly
- Avoid close contact, shaking hands and hugging
- Cover your mouth and nose when shopping, on public transport or during other social contacts.
According to Italian media, it will be possible to move around Tuscany freely again from June 3rd. The pools should also be opened, with distance rules and a limit on the number of people expected. The beach resorts will also be subject to strict distance rules, while general precautionary measures should only apply on the free beaches.
