Hello Ms. Santoni,

The two accommodations met our expectations. Everything was as described in the Toscana forum.

The location and surroundings of Chianti 1 are fantastic. What's not so ideal about Chianti 1 is that the landlords live in the other half of the house from Thursday to Sunday. The halves of the house are only separated by a normal room door. Sometimes we heard the landlords talking and heard the television (probably the same the other way around).

Villa Marti 1 was also very good, but in terms of location, Chianti was a bit better. For this, Marti scores points with the landlord, Mr. Genka. Cool guy, very helpful and always approachable.

If we book Italy again, there is no reason not to use the Toscana Forum.

Dear Ms. Santoni,

That was a real surprise: We were expecting a holiday home with everything that a holiday home usually has: furniture from Ikea or leftover items from the landlord's household, non-functioning dishwashers and a general lack of usable kitchen appliances, but instead this:

Villa Chianti 1 is the F. family's private holiday home, stylishly and tastefully furnished with beautiful furniture from the early 20th century, decorated with large-format paintings (originals) in heavy gold frames right into the bedrooms, equipped with comfortable upholstered furniture, a spacious Dining table and a fireplace, which is more like an open fire, and a fully functional kitchen with a gas stove, which made cooking a lot easier for us.

The garden around the house is magical, from the pool you have a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains and the towers of San Gimignano, slightly shrouded in haze, very romantic.

Castellina in Chianti is a charming little town with some very, very good restaurants and good self-catering shopping opportunities, especially the gelateria is recommended.

Signora F. greeted us warmly in her best German and welcomed us with home-baked aniseed cookies and Vin Santo from her own vineyard. She explained to us the various herbal mixtures in her spice cupboard, which we were allowed to use as a matter of course, as well as the old china and glasses in the large living room cupboard. And when we had a small inconvenience with the sewage, Signora reacted immediately and had the damage repaired that same morning.

We also owe our visit to the S. winery, to which Signora F. is friendly, to their recommendation. Baron Alessandro personally celebrated the tasting and of course we did a lot of shopping afterwards.

Despite the rather cool and sometimes rainy weather, we had a wonderful stay in the villa, this very special kind of private holiday home.

Thank you for asking. We actually had a wonderful holiday with wonderful hosts.

Villa Chianti is a beautiful old property in a wonderful location. Our children particularly liked the pool. The view from the terrace is simply incredible. Everything was to our complete satisfaction.

We spent some wonderful vacation days in the heart of Tuscany.

We spent 2 wonderful weeks in the two houses of the lovely D. family.

The quiet hillside location with a view of St. Giminiano is unique, the 16 x 6 m swimming pool is a stunner. This is simply an oasis between Florence and Siena and highly recommended for a relaxing holiday.
