Spiritual Tuscany Travel | Unwind in Tuscany

While people used to simply go on vacation and relax, these days many people no longer notice how overloaded they actually are because of all the stress and rush. It's high time for a break from the constant hectic pace and never-ending pressure. But it's not uncommon for us to swap work stress for vacation stress when we finally have time to relax.

A journey to yourself

How about a different kind of vacation that is healing and relaxing for the body, mind and soul? Regina Maaß is a Reiki master and transformation therapist and helps people in their practice to gently and respectfully relieve stress and strain that go beyond what is bearable. The Berliner also organizes events several times a year spiritual, transformative journeys to the sunny south. At the beginning of June she visited the medieval town of Suvereto in southern Tuscany with a group of seven women for a week. The impressive building complex of the old monastery, behind whose walls there are now comfortable holiday apartments, Regina Maaß was impressed from the start. The historic arcade, the tranquil inner courtyard and the picturesque monastery garden offer just the right backdrop for a journey to yourself where you can really unwind.

Throw off mental baggage

For those who like it, the day begins in the courtyard with yoga or Qi Gong before meeting in the garden for breakfast together. This is followed by a program of meditations, conversations, role plays and exercises that help you recognize your own weaknesses and strengths. “For most of the participants, the mornings are like someone stopping their hamster wheel,” says Regina Maaß. You would finally have time to concentrate on yourself and let go of emotional stress. “At the same time, a group like this grows together very quickly and the moment everyone meets at eye level, it is much easier for each individual to open up and allow themselves to be supported by the others.”

The afternoons are reserved for, among other things, the beach, sightseeing, a visit to the thermal springs or a stroll through a typical Italian weekly market, before enjoying Tuscan cuisine in a romantic restaurant in the evening.

Return to everyday life feeling free

Regina Maaß herself really appreciates the fact that she doesn't have to worry about anything on vacation and can just relax and unwind. That's why their trips are fully organized so that the participants can simply follow the program. “It starts with a meeting to get to know each other and the packing list,” she says, “and only ends when everyone can safely board their return flight at Pisa airport and return to everyday life free of charge.” She has found that most people still enjoy the trip for two to three weeks and that many still look back on the trip to Tuscany years later with a smile in their hearts.
