Villa Tuscany in Marti
Villa Tuscany Marti 2 is located in the middle of the Valdarno in the municipality of Montopoli. The surrounding landscape with its rolling hills, bright yellow sunflower and corn fields between olive groves and vineyards is typical of the lower Arno Valley. The rustic building was initially built as a farmhouse in the second half of the 2th century. After a redesign in the 18th century, Villa Tuscany was completely restored in 20 to guarantee holiday guests pleasant and carefree holidays. In the main building of this Villa Tuscany, the living space extends over 2004 floors. The large room on the ground floor, which once housed the stables, has retained its original size. Here a rustic arch separates the living and dining areas. Access is available from both the parking lot and the swimming pool side. There is a spacious kitchen adjacent. There is also one of the bedrooms with a shower room (en suite) on the ground floor. The remaining bedrooms, some with shower rooms (en suite), a bathroom with a bathtub and a fireplace room with another bed are on the upper floor. Overall, Villa Marti 2 offers space for 2-10 people. The barn, which was once used to store hay and straw, has been converted into a spacious area that guests can use for play and relaxation. If you want, you can here e.g. B. Play ping-pong. But it is also possible to simply follow the game from a comfortable seat. A pergola invites you to enjoy pleasant meals outside. A spacious swimming pool (11m x 14m) was created where the slope of the hill made it possible. Special stones from the region were used to surround the pool. Cushions and deck chairs await sun-hungry or simply relaxation-seeking holidaymakers around the pool. Pool towels are provided. Some historical information about Villa Tuscany Marti 2:
The building has always belonged to the Florentine Baldovinetti family and their descendants. The family's historical archive shows that the Baldovinettis' presence in Marti has been documented since the beginning of the 15th century. The originally Florentine family settled here in the lower Arno Valley after Pisa was conquered by Florence. Over the centuries, the Baldovinettis expanded their holdings around Marti, the small town that can be seen from the house, their activity being mainly based on agriculture. The countryside at this time had an economic system called “metayage,” which involved all farmers living with their families on the land they cultivated for the property owner. The house was made available to them and they were allowed to keep 50% of the agricultural income. The “metayage” system ended in the late XNUMXs, when, due to industrialization in Italy, there was a sudden rush of the rural population to the industrial cities, thus depriving the countryside of workers. Agriculture remained in deep crisis for two decades. Only tourism brought new opportunities. As a result, many of the former farmhouses were converted into suitable holiday accommodation. The lower Arno Valley is known for its archaeological finds from Roman times, but especially from Etruscan times. A respectable collection can be found a few kilometers away Montopoli Visit the museum. Marti itself is worth a visit because of a church (Santa Maria Novella) with admirable frescoes that dates back to the early 18th century. In addition, Villa Tuscany Marti 2 is an ideal location for excursions to the most important art and cultural cities in Tuscany. Florence, Pisa, Siena or Lucca, they are all easily accessible by car. Numerous cultural offerings await interested visitors here: museums, concerts, city tours with specialized guides or simply exploring on your own. Even smaller centers are rich in art treasures and are worth a visit, e.g. B. San Gimignano, San Miniato, Vinci (birthplace of Leonardo) or Volterra. Of course, those who love swimming will also get their money's worth, as the Tyrrhenian Sea is only about 40 kilometers away. The beaches near Livorno are very popular, further away but more exquisite is the Versilia coast between Viareggio and Massa Carrara.Equipment
