From baroque to pop
With six strings to Tuscany
Peter Meiers musical vita is impressive and his guitar students appreciate him as a patient teacher on their individual path to becoming a better guitarist.
Guitar workshop in Tuscany
Since the early 1990s he has been organizing a summer guitar workshop in Tuscany for enthusiastic amateur players. “It’s such a beautiful way to teach in the wonderful landscape,” he says. The participants there are particularly open and receptive because they feel a bit like they are on vacation. “Communicating with each other and playing together also make learning easier,” says Peter Meier. This year's summer workshop took place for the first time in the last week of August Holiday home InToscana instead of. The six spacious apartments and the view of the beautiful 6.000 square meter garden created an inspiring atmosphere for the nine active guitarists. While the morning program included around two and a half hours of technique, ensemble, improvisation, rhythm and some theory, the afternoons were reserved for individual one-to-one lessons. “Everyone made great progress in one week,” says Peter Meier happily, “so that the final concert we rehearsed together with pieces from baroque to pop became the musical highlight of this year’s guitar workshop in Tuscany.”
Ideal care at InToscana
“The medieval village of Terricciola with small shops, bars and restaurants is only a ten-minute walk from InToscana,” explains Peter Meier, “which the participants found particularly pleasant.” The fact that you can communicate with Elisa and Davide in German also made things a lot easier and their personal excursion and restaurant tips as well as an evening of wine tasting together will certainly make this guitar week resonate with the participants for a long time.
