Dear Ms. Santoni,
We returned from our vacation today and perhaps you would be interested in a short feedback about Villa Guardistallo.
First of all, the highlight of the accommodation: the garden. Or rather the park, or rather the house forest. If you're traveling with a dog, it's just perfect. In fact completely fenced in and with endless opportunities to run and sniff. And even without dogs, it's a lot of fun to explore this enchanted garden.
The pool is also great and was quietly cleaned every morning. We didn't even realize anyone was there. A really, really nice place to relax!
We were accompanied by Mr. Rindi and Patrizia when we arrived at the house, which I found very nice and the check out on departure was also very uncomplicated.
The house itself is very nice, but we noticed that it was getting old. There are many little things that lead to this impression. For example, the toilet flush leaks, leaving you standing in spray when flushing. The bedside lamp only works if you hold the cable in a very specific position. One of the living room windows was sealed with foam strips that fell off when it was first opened. For the first 1 1/2 days the fuse for the refrigerator constantly popped because the sink was not sealed and water flowed into the socket in the sink cabinet when washing dishes and regularly caused a short circuit. At some point the holder for the hand shower broke off in the annex, which is why the hand shower was completely removed. And there are actually only 2 wine glasses in the house.
When the refrigerator broke down, we of course informed Mr. R. and someone came over immediately the next day to seal the sink and also took the opportunity to bring us the missing keys to open the grille in front of the kitchen door or the shutters in front of it Lock the entrance door. And the defective coffee machine was also replaced upon request.
None of these are dramatic things and my feedback is by no means meant as a complaint. For us, dog-friendliness was the priority, so everything is good.
Finally, I would like to tell you that I was very impressed with your service and would be happy to come back to you when we plan our next trip to Tuscany!

Recommendation: Yes
Very large, completely fenced forest property. Access to the stream via a gate. Huge pool (15x6m) with pool house as well as toilet and fridge. Road leads directly past the property, but with little traffic. Main house with lots of dark antique furniture (seems a bit spooky), which makes everything a bit impractical. The children loved the pool table. Beds squeak and are laid out. Kitchen quite small, but all the utensils and dishes you need are there. Great service.
Vacation period: September 20.7th - September 3.8.2019th, XNUMX
Cleanliness of the domicile: very clean, weekly cleaning with new towels etc.
Condition of the furnishings/equipment: lots of antiques and rather older furnishings, but everything works
Service/customer friendliness of the landlord on site: Very nice and helpful. Very good communication in English via the daughter-in-law

We really enjoyed our vacation in Tuscany, unfortunately the week went by too quickly.
We found the house by chance on the internet. I can't remember the exact search term, but somehow we always ended up on your site 🙂
We would like to note that we found your very friendly telephone advice (despite it being the evening and dinner time) to be very friendly, as well as your offer that you would be available on site to answer any further questions and tips. In my opinion, this is no longer a given these days.
The “Villa Guardistallo” is truly an extraordinary holiday home!
The huge property itself - in which you can really get lost - seemed to us like an enchanted park from a fairy tale... with the old bridge, all the little nooks and narrow paths through the bushes, the little houses, stairs and those with ivy overgrown fountains etc... After driving through the old iron entrance gate, you almost feel like you are in another world. A great tip for anyone looking for peace and quiet in nature without strangers! And anyone who wants to draw or paint on vacation will find tons of motifs here!
The old natural stone house itself with all its antiques is also something very special. Truly extraordinary! Surprisingly, the billiard room turned out to be a real enrichment of our holiday! The swimming pool is great and was always kept sparkling clean by a pool cleaning service - although we never noticed them coming and going.
Our dogs also enjoyed their stay. Since the property is completely fenced in and we could simply let the dogs run, it was very relaxing for both the dog AND the person.
Two things we didn't like:
1.) We found the kitchen to be a bit dingy. The fridge and freezer were very clean (maybe new), but the sink, dishwasher, countertop and cabinets were not so much "appetizing". Likewise, some of the dishes and kitchen utensils, which also gave the impression that they were almost exclusively "jumbled together legacies" of many previous tenants. This somehow didn't fit at all with the rest of the rest of the house, some of which were certainly valuable, antique furnishings.
2.) The old beds in the house are very original, but the double bed (at least the one in the lower bedroom) sags so much in the middle that we had to "support" the mattress with various pillows and blankets that were available there not to roll them both together in the middle. As it turned out, other previous tenants had apparently already had this idea, as there were already some blankets etc. under the mattress. (Definitely recommended for honeymooners :)
My tip if someone has a problem with spiders: they should bring an insect curtain from home to put over their bed. Since the ceilings in the house are so high, you can't easily remove any spiders that might be sitting up there. Since I (unfortunately) have a big problem with this, I was only able to sleep properly from the third night onwards after we bought such a curtain in Cecina.
What was annoying, but what no one can do anything about and which certainly depends on the weather or season: There were so many horseflies on the property that in some cases you could only stay outside completely sprayed with mosquito repellent. We had to make the journey through the garden or to the swimming pool and back partly by running and throwing towels around.

If you had told us about this during your vacation, we would have promptly organized follow-up cleaning for you! Pots and pans are made of stainless steel. When it comes to tableware, it's true that it doesn't necessarily look the same, but given the quantity (service for 12 people), it's unfortunately not always possible to buy the exact same parts that were broken, i.e. from the same model... but we'll see keep trying to make it better!You are welcome everytime!

We landed back in Germany safely.
Thank you again for the uncomplicated help with the departure agreement and the associated language difficulties.
We really enjoyed the country villa and especially the pool and were really amazed by the size of the property.
However, I would like to make a small note:
The house is really beautifully located for its size and amenities and offers a lot of space. The pool is fantastic and the house with its location is very idyllic.
Even though it's in the middle of nature, which is why we like it so much, a little more care when cleaning wouldn't be a bad thing: I think you can understand that spiders and their webs weren't just two days old , which somewhat dampened the rapture of my wife and daughter. Women and spiders simply do not live together harmoniously.
We would have liked to have communicated this little comment to Mr. R. ourselves, but unfortunately this was not possible for known reasons.
Please send him my warmest thanks again for the quick response to the small restrictions after the storm and my hope that I was able to convey my thanks personally despite the language difficulties.

The converted mill was, as advertised, very rustically furnished. The remoteness and the size of the area are ideal for holidays with your dog. The pool area absolutely met our needs. With the many trees providing shade around the pool, it was pure relaxation.
