Re: Stay in June 2011 at the Agriturismo Lago di GardaOn the way to Umbria we stopped for 3 nights at the Agriturismo Lago di Garda.
There we were warmly welcomed by Cristina's parents after a long journey (11 hours) and greeted with a delicious wine from their own winery.
The manor dates back to the 15th century and was lovingly and lavishly renovated by its owners. Our hotel room was friendly and modern and the bathroom was very tastefully tiled. The window overlooked a spacious, beautifully paved courtyard with side arcades. One evening here we enjoyed pasta and salad prepared by Cristina's mother, accompanied by a good house wine. Whether Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio or Merlot, white or red, we were thrilled and of course we stocked up on enough supplies to take home, as well as the excellent “extra virgin” olive oil from our own production.
The hotel is ideal, not just as a stopover on the way further south. It is also worth spending a few days here to explore Lake Garda, discover Verona or simply “switch off from everyday life”.
We have decided to come back and will recommend you, dear Cristina, to friends and acquaintances.
