Full of excitement, we picked up our car at Sixt and went to our destination: Chianti Castle 3
As we drove into the street in our car we stood in front of this old castle. With us you pay money to watch and now should we really sleep here? Here too we were warmly welcomed at reception.
We walked over bumpy old cobblestones through small corridors to our apartment. This extended over 2 floors. Very unusual room design. You walk through the door and stand in the middle of the room, old beams, railings and pieces of furniture facing the red sofa and television. Great combination. A tiny kitchen, enough for cooking for 2. A very narrow bathroom, also very clean and well maintained. A huge old wardrobe in the bedroom. The bed very comfortable. You felt like you had been transported back to the Middle Ages.
The restaurant contributed even more to feeling comfortable there. But be careful! The food was a poem. However, the price quickly brought us back down to earth.
The surrounding area is also impressive. Very village-like and very nice for walks. Or just relax by the pool, which was nicely laid out.
Day visits to San Gimignano or Florence are also good.

Conclusion: how could we have overlooked Tuscany for so long?
