Even though it's been a while since our vacation in Tuscany (end of May 2014), I still don't want to miss the opportunity to give you some feedback.
Wir hatten uns die „Burg 4“ in Gaiole in Chianti ausgesucht. Die Unterkunft entsprach genau unseren Wünschen und Vorstellungen. Die Bilder in Ihrem Forum haben nicht zu viel versprochen!
Zu Beginn gab es direkt eine dicke überraschung. Weil wir zu dieser Zeit die einzigen Gäste waren, die für längere Zeit gebucht hatten (13 übernachtungen) bekamen wir vom Vermieter ein kostenloses Upgrade auf die Suite! So hatten wir ein wunderschönes großes Zimmer im Turm der Burg, einfach toll. Alles sauber, täglich frische Handtücher, sehr freundliches Personal. Am zweiten Tag gab es ein kleines Problem mit dem Warmwasserboiler. Es wurde sofort Personal aktiviert (es war Sonntag, Hausdame wurde von zu Hause geholt). Als „Plan B“ bekamen wir sogar den Schlüssel für ein freies Nachbarzimmer, damit wir im Notfall dort duschen konnten, falls der Boiler am Wochenende noch einmal ausfallen sollte. Das war aber gar nicht nötig, denn das Problem trat nicht mehr auf.
We had breakfast with Max in the castle restaurant. Max had a nice breakfast buffet set up every morning, even if only four guests came for breakfast. Always varied in salami, ham and cheese, tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers, fresh strawberries and melons, quark and yoghurt, sweets and various types of coffee of your choice. On request there were boiled eggs, scrambled or fried eggs.
Max und sein Partner haben auch eine hervorragende warme Küche, die wir auch ein paar Mal in Anspruch genommen haben. Jedoch für jeden Tag war es uns dann doch etwas zu teuer. Dafür sind wir dann „Stammgäste“ in der kleinen Osteria „Bandito“ geworden, die tolle italienische Hausmannskost und Steaks auf den Tisch gebracht haben.
We also used the complex's pool. It is sized so that you can swim in it easily even with several people. At the end of our stay we had a very extensive wine tasting with Cristina, who managed to put together the right ones for us from the large selection of wines to be tasted. We felt very comfortable in the accommodation and can recommend it without reservation.
