Tuscany with Dog – Part 1

Jule T. and Michael H. from Hamburg have wanted to travel to Tuscany for a long time. Most important requirement: Sunny, an older female Border Collie mix, Lancy, the male Spitz, and Luna, a still very lively Spitz mix girl, should definitely come along. For toskana-mit-hund.de no problem. The online travel agency has more than 100 dog-friendly holiday homes on its website. It starts today, March 23, 2018. Goal: that Holiday Home In Tuscany in Terricciola. You can read about what the two people from Hamburg experience with their four-legged friends in the hilly Pisan landscape here in Jule's travel diary.

March 23rd: It finally starts

The suitcases are packed and the adventure can begin. We have never taken such a long trip with the dogs, but everything is well prepared:

    • All three dogs have an EU pet passport and a valid rabies vaccination.
    • On the advice of our veterinarian, we gave all dogs a spot-on against ticks and fleas.
    • For the last four days we have been feeding the dogs from BARF carnal lust changed: this makes feeding on vacation a little easier.
    • Because it is mandatory in Italy to carry a muzzle and leash with you at all times, three muzzles had to be purchased. While the two dog girls endured the fitting without complaint, Lancy showed only too clearly how little he liked the thing.

Initially we considered transporting the dogs in the back of our station wagon. But we decided against it because Sunny is finding it increasingly difficult to get into the trunk. So we also needed a protective blanket for the back seat and a harness for each four-legged friend that could be attached to the car like a seat belt.
