From now on to Tuscany

As a husky that is classified as a Nordic breed, Smilla is not necessarily the type of dog for Tuscany. But if you, like Claudia and Ulf F. from Hamburg, travel in a car with air conditioning and find plenty of shade and water to cool off at the holiday destination, dogs like Smilla are also of the opinion: “The main thing is that I am with my people!” The idea Traveling south for a week with the two children and the husky dog came rather spontaneously. And because Claudia F. via Facebook on “Tuscany with dogWhen she became aware of it, she quickly wrote a text message to Elisa Santoni on July 18th. It should be a house for sole use, with a pool and fenced garden. Dog owners know from experience that a vacation with their four-legged friend usually takes a long time to plan. But – as so often – Elisa Santoni made the impossible possible and early on Thursday evening (July 21st) the Hamburg residents were sitting in their car and driving towards Tuscany.

Just hang out and relax”

That was around half past three the following day Montecatini Estate reached and just half an hour later the whole family was frolicking in the pool. “The heat was pretty good,” remembers Claudia F., but there was a refreshing wind up on the hill and Smilla quickly found the best places in the shade.” Since parents and kids agreed that this was supposed to be a vacation to hang out and relax, there was neither a great sightseeing program nor trips to the beach. Basically, the people of Hamburg only moved away from the spacious property to go for walks in the evening or to go shopping in the village. It must be said that the Montecatini estate is an intact borgo, a tiny rural village of medieval origins, which was completely self-sufficient until the Second World War. And in Villa Montecatini, the former farmhouse, holidaymakers from the far north had plenty of space anyway.

Tuscany with a dog: A vacation to slow down

While Lotta (14) and Matti (16) spent most of their time by the pool and were very happy about the WiFi, the parents finally had time to make themselves comfortable on a deck chair with a good book.

Meanwhile, Smilla browsed around the large property, greeted the landlord couple's friendly Labrador and after a short time had completely switched over to vacation - like her two-legged friends.

And finally ... “It was really great that we got exactly the right thing for us from now on and then,” says Claudia F. The personal advice from Elisa Santoni particularly appealed to her. People are no longer used to such service today. “It was a great vacation to slow down and for all of us – including Smilla – it was just great! I can only recommend Tuscany with a dog.”.
