Andrea Bocelli at the Teatro del Silenzio – 30 years of “Romanza”

Updated in August 2026 – Review of the 21st edition and outlook for the Teatro del Silenzio 2027.

Almost all year round, the Teatro del Silenzio is a place of calm where peaceful energy can circulate unhindered. The Theater of Silence, initiated by Andrea Bocelli, is located in the immediate vicinity of his birthplace, Lajatico. Only once a year, in July, the Teatro del Silenzio comes to life, completely changing the energy in this special place. When the opera star invites the world's greatest artists to give an unforgettable concert with them on the open-air stage, thousands of people gather here to celebrate one of the greatest and most unusual musical performances in the world against the backdrop of the magical Tuscan hills .

Teatro del Silenzio 2026: three concert evenings in July

The 21st edition brought three evenings to the open-air stage of Lajatico in July 2026, each starting at 20:30 pm:

  • Tuesday, July 21, 2026 – Matteo Bocelli. The maestro's son opened the festival with his only Italian performance of the year, presenting his second album "Falling in Love" for the first time in Italy.
  • Thursday, July 23 & Saturday, July 25, 2026 – Andrea Bocelli. The occasion was a special one: 30 years of "Romanza". Released three decades ago, the album is the most successful album by an Italian artist worldwide with over 20 million copies sold – featuring world hits such as "Time to Say Goodbye", "Vivo per lei", "Il mare calmo della sera", "Vivere" and "Miserere".

Italian singer Arisa accompanied the maestro as a special guest on both evenings. Following the completely sold-out anniversary edition in 2025, a second Bocelli evening was scheduled due to enormous demand.

Tickets & Prices

Tickets are available exclusively through the official channels Vivaticket, City Sound, and Info Lajatico (box office in La Sterza di Lajatico). The organizers explicitly warn against purchasing tickets outside of these channels, as there is a risk of overpriced or counterfeit tickets. For reference, according to the Italian press, in 2026, the price range for the Bocelli evenings was €130 (unnumbered grandstand) to €1.200 (Gold VIP Experience), with the Matteo Bocelli evening starting at €30. Dates and the start of ticket sales for the 2027 edition will be announced in the autumn, as usual – we will update this page as soon as they are confirmed.

Good to know: In case of bad weather, the concerts will not be cancelled, but postponed to the following day. Tickets remain valid; refunds are not available.

Looking back: the topics of recent years

Following concerts featuring a broad operatic repertoire (2016/2017) and the opera "Andrea Chénier" with Bocelli in the title role (2018), "Ali di Libertà" (2019), "Il Mistero della Bellezza" (2021), "Infinito" (2022), and "Mariposa" (2023) were presented. In 2024, Lajatico celebrated on three evenings Bocelli's 30-year stage career, then in 2025 the 20th anniversary of the Teatro del Silenzio itself – with guests such as Plácido Domingo and Queen guitarist Brian May.

Those who combine the concert with a Tuscan holiday are best advised to stay right in the neighborhood: in the Boutique B&B Lajatico in the concert venue itself, in Terricciola Estate or by Terricciola Winery in the neighboring municipality – or in one of the Holiday apartments in the province of PisaA study by the University of Pisa shows that it's worth it: around 69% of concertgoers in 2025 traveled from abroad and stayed in the region for an average of about five nights. Call Elisa or Davide (+49 89 123 92 998) – the Tuscany specialists at Toscana Forum will be happy to help you with accommodation and planning your individual opera trip.

By the way: The "Romanza" anniversary tour will stop at Vienna's Ernst Happel Stadium on August 22, 2026 – the only date in German-speaking countries. And in July 2027, the music returns to the Tuscan hills before the Teatro del Silenzio falls silent once more.
